The patio area that was the target for this renovation spans over 9,000 square feet. It has the perfect view of the club’s golf course and putting green. The primary goal of the project was to transform the patio into a space where members can enjoy the club’s new outdoor bar and kitchen. Additionally, they wanted guests to be able to kick back and relax in each other’s company. Since the patio is located near to the club’s fine dining room, it was also essential that this remodel be versatile. It needed to complement a variety of dining experiences. For instance, the furniture needed to be aesthetically sophisticated, but also comfortable to lounge in.
There were also some practical needs for the outdoor furniture. Because the club hosts many events, new chairs needed to be easily stackable without sacrificing durability. Further, new tables needed to be able to easily rearrange to accommodate different groups sizes and setups. Lastly, the new furniture needed to stand up against the intense wind and high temperatures common to El Paso.
We were the natural choice for meeting the needs of the El Paso Country Club’s project. Director of sales at El Paso Automated, Lorraine Kuehnel, says she was drawn to Homecrest because of the wide variety of styles we offer. It allowed her company to propose many great options so they could choose the perfect look for the club’s needs. Kuehnel says, “Our [Homecrest] representative, Jeff Crayton, was a wonderful resource and was able to bring samples of furniture to the new patio site so the general manager of the club could test drive the seating.” Being able to trial our collections on site was invaluable for the decision-making process, according to Kuehnel.
The finished patio sports a clean, geometric style with stackable Allure café chairs and movable square-topped Natural Series Timber tables. This creates a rich contrast with the more rolling, natural shapes of the patio area’s surrounding golf course and overhead sun canopy, which has a pattern that mimics the shadows that leaves create when sunlight shines through them.
The lounging area next to the patio hosts Havenhill cushion swivel rockers, loveseats, and sofas that surround Timber end tables. Having cushioned seating in the lounge area produces a softer, more relaxed feel. This is thematically tied in with the geometric patio area by including Timber tables in the same square shape.
The outdoor space is made complete with a color palette of gentle, warm tones. The Allure chairs feature our Havanna sling fabric, which has a woven texture with earthy browns and hints of copper. Additionally, Havanna complements the Dune color of the Timber tables, which realistically mimics the look and feel of white oak wood. These colors blend nicely with the Canvas Taupe and Antique Beige fabrics of the Havenhill cushions in the lounge area. All of these color-coordinated pieces are tied together with our neutral Carbon frame finish. This finish makes the lighter and warmer colors shine.
Another great aspect of these Homecrest collections is that they are all extremely durable and weather resistant. Our fabrics are designed to handle any climate. Meanwhile, our frame finishes use special powder-coating to protect the color and the frame from scratching, fading, or warping. Finally, our Natural Series table tops have the realistic appearance of wood without the high-maintenance downsides of actual timber. This means Homecrest’s collections can stand up to El Paso’s climate with no problem and stay looking elegant for years.
Kuehnel is pleased with how the completed renovation matches the outdoor space. She says, “The furniture blends in with the environment very well. The colors chosen, and also the design of the furniture coordinates with the design of the materials chosen for the outdoor patio.” She is also a fan of the Allure chairs’ ability to stack and handle practically, while still maintaining a classy look. About the entire finished space, Kuehnel says, “It is the perfect combination of upscale and casual.” El Paso Automated’s positive experience working with Homecrest is a testament to how much care we put into designing and crafting our outdoor living products.
Most importantly, the El Paso Country Club is also delighted with the final renovation. Our Homecrest pieces were added just in time to be used during last year’s Fourth of July celebration. The club is known locally for putting on an incredible fireworks display each year, so having updated, fashionable seating was much appreciated. Club members who watched the patio transformation take place expressed that the update was greatly appreciated.
My favorite part was actually seeing people enjoying the area. Members were sitting around the fire pit with their children, enjoying drinks on the patio, chatting with friends, sitting with their laptops [sic], and reading on the loveseats and sofas with their feet up.
Kuehnel sums up the satisfaction Homecrest feels after successfully completing this project when she describes her experience with checking up on the renovations once the new outdoor space was fully operational.
