Homecrest: Minnesota Dual-Training Employer

Homecrest recently began participating in the dual-training Minnesota PIPELINE Program in effort to enhance the skills of our employees.

Outdoor furniture manufacturer Homecrest Outdoor Living recently began participating in the Minnesota PIPELINE (Private Investment, Public Education, Labor and Industry Experience) Program. This is part of a continued effort to enhance the skills of our employees. Now, Homecrest has received a badge identifying us as a Minnesota Dual-Training Employer as recognition for our involvement in the program.

The PIPELINE Program is developed by the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry. They supply employers with education and training resources to create dual-training programs for their workers. Employees receive a combination of in-class instruction and on-the-job training. Altogether, this gives them the skills they need to perform their jobs well.

Through this program, Homecrest was able to provide our welders with advanced training and American Welding Society (AWS) certification. This is courtesy of instructor Josh Heibel from M State’s Workforce Development Solutions. One hundred percent of our current welders are now certified by the AWS after spending 36 hours improving their metallurgical and welding techniques in the classroom and on the manufacturing floor.

“It’s extremely important for our business to have certified aluminum welders that are producing high-quality products on a daily basis.” – Tim DeJong, CEO of Homecrest Outdoor Living

Homecrest has a longstanding reputation of manufacturing products for superior durability and design. Additionally, our participation in the PIPELINE Program will help to ensure that our American-made outdoor furniture continues to exceed expectations in the industry.
